Low Tech Home Security Solutions

It is important that you have a good level of security no matter where you live. An intruder or burglar can strike in any neighborhood at any time, so be prepared. There are some low tech ways that you can improve your home security, and this article will tell you about them.

The first thing that can be done to improve your home security is to always lock your doors. There is no reason for you to have an unlocked door, no matter if you are home or away. By always having your door locked, you make it just that much harder for an intruder or burglar to gain access to your home.

The next thing that you can do is keep windows shut and locked. It is not practical to think you can always have your windows shut, but whenever you leave the house you should shut and lock all your windows. Even windows on a second or third floor should be locked; a burglar can still find a way to get into them.

If you do want to keep your windows open most of the time, you should install safety locks that will only allow them to go up a short distance. What safety locks allow you to do is have your window open just enough that no person can enter your house.

Many burglars and intruders can be scared off with light. You should install motion detecting lights around your house that will turn on if any motion is sensed. This may seem like a very simple thing to do, but it can be very effective.

These are just some of the low tech home security changes that you can make that will help improve the security of your home in no time.
