Night Vision Cameras

You can protect your home or office with night vision security cameras 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The cameras are cost-effective, easy to install, and can capture clear images both day and night, no matter what kind of lighting conditions are in place. Typically, a night vision security camera is weatherproof and will capture color images during the day and black and white images at night.

CCTV night vision cameras have traditionally been used for commercial applications, but lower cost bullet and dome cameras are now well suited for residential use. Here’s a little bit about how they work. Us humans have limited vision and only see a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum called visible light, that is, without any help. However, we can see much better images of that visible light with the use of special equipment and cameras. Using such technology allows us to capture non-visible sources of electromagnetic radiation known as infrared light. Many surveillance cameras today now have the ability to project infrared light using a number of LED illuminators. When this process is combined with CCD image sensors capable of recording the infrared light spectrum, you get what’s called night vision.

There are many standalone night vision camera systems which you can buy and install. They are inexpensive and easy to operate. All you have to do is choose where you want to mount the surveillance camera, which also serves as the transmitter. Then you should place the receiver somewhere indoors and hook it up to a TV, monitor, computer, or DVR. Then presto – that’s it. The antennas do the rest of the work. Night vision cameras are a great addition to any surveillance or security system set-up.
