Self Defense to Defend Yourself

You never know when you might be a victim of an attacker. Whether you are tall or short, skinny or fat, male or female, everyone has the chance of becoming a victim. If you are smart, you will have a taser, pepper spray or something to fend them off. But the chances are high you will not always have something with you to defend yourself.
Because of this, knowing and understanding self defense can potentially save your life at some point in time. There are several things you can do and learn to protect yourself from a random attack. It is important you understand that all is fair game. Therefore, do not be afraid to use your nails, use a palm strike, or kick.
Generally an attacker is going to be violent and potentially have a gun or knife. This makes it difficult to attack back with a kick or palm strike. While learning to punch and kick, it is equally vital you learn how to defend and get out of a chokehold. The slightest block can help you escape or even surprise the attacker and get them to run off.
Lastly, put to use the environment you are in. If you are near a bunch of people, yell and scream for attention. In addition, think about the various objects that are around you. It is just as easy to grab a rock and hit or throw at the attacker as it is to use a different weapon.
Whatever you do, the best way to defend yourself is to not panic. The second you begin to panic you will have given up and lost all chance of defending yourself.
