Different Types of Security Cameras

Security cameras are a popular component of many home or business security systems, and as a result, there is a wide variety of different products currently on the market. However, when purchasing a security camera, you’ll want to narrow it down to one that suits both your needs and budget.
The most basic type of security camera item available isn’t even a real camera—it just looks like one. Dummy cameras act as a deterrent to burglars and vandals, who don’t want to be seen committing a crime. The down side is that dummy cameras aren’t recording so you have no video evidence if you are burgled.
If you’d prefer the real thing, bullet cameras are small and discreet, and can be mounted either inside or outside, depending on your circumstances. Homeowners and business owners may consider mounting a bullet camera on the perimeter of their property, or near doors or gates where there is substantial activity.
Dome cameras are best placed inside, and are useful for areas with high levels of traffic. They usually provide a bird’s-eye-view or 360 degree view of a given area, meaning that you’ll have a much smaller blind spot when viewing any footage taken.
Infrared cameras can take footage at night when other cameras may not be as effective, and can be a good idea for poorly lit places or for use in areas near high value items. Whatever the types of security cameras you decide upon, you’ll have a valuable deterrent against crime
