The Benefits of Freeze Alarms

For individuals who live in areas that suffer from inclement and freezing weather, the installation of freeze alarms can be worthwhile.
Freeze alarms are devices that alert residents when temperatures drop to a particular level. When a freeze alarm is triggered, a phone number will be automatically dialed to let the resident know that they need to take steps to protect their property from the potential damage caused by freezing temperatures.
Unlike most home security systems, owners of freeze alarms will not have to pay for monitoring or for installation. Freeze alarms also contain battery backups, meaning that in the event of a blackout, you’ll still be alerted if temperatures drop to dangerous levels.
The alerting function of freeze alarms can usually apply to three different phone numbers, so that in the event of a freeze, several people can be contacted, or one person can be contacted on a variety of their contact numbers. These functions also apply to international phone numbers, so if you’re overseas, you can contact someone to help take measures to protect your home against damage.
Given the significant damage, such as burst pipes, that can occur during freezing temperatures, a freeze alarm is a helpful tool for protecting your home and notifying you when it’s time to act.
