Security in Afghanistan- Some Points That are Much Talked About

When any one talks of Afghanistan, one thing that manages to get the conversation is that it was the Al Qaeda terrorists living in Afghanistan who planned the deadly 911 attacked that the America witnessed.  It was a retaliated reply from America’s side that it decided to defeat Taliban and very much succeeded in that.  If one looks at the present condition of Afghanistan, then can clearly see that the country needs immediate attention and this is one such issue that cannot be subjected to delay.

It seems that the term National Security has been completely misunderstood by both the nation’s governing bodies and the foreign powers who are taking care of it as this is why no is reaching to a conclusion that contains a result oriented plan of action.  From the various news resources it can be learnt that the senior advisors of Barack Obama are trying to exactly determine the size of the effort that has to be applied to deal with the insurgency that is prevailing in Afghanistan. Now the American government is trying to come out with the priorities that have to be considered.

It seems that once the objectives are clear, surely the efforts are going to lead to the direction that in one way or the other assures that the people of Afghanistan are going to lead a safe life.

Now coming to the priorities that are being worked on at presently, keeping the Taliban and the Al Qaeda mission aside, the general security of the city is being provided by the American military troops that are here.  Now comes the question how long are the forces going to stay here to provide security?

There is one more issue that is indirectly playing havoc on the security in Afghanistan and that is the corruption that is prevailing in Kabul. When the presidential elections were carried out in the country last year, the results took more than the expected time to come out.  This clearly shows that the election fraud is very much there and this is why the people are not sure about the security that they are going to enjoy.

The foreign policy that President Barack Obama is following in Afghanistan is not an objection free one as the pattern appears out to be quite disturbing.  President has clearly shown signals that he is very much willing to leave the troops in the field without providing them with their basic requisites, thus indirectly abandoning the general public of Afghanistan. The talks that President Obama had with the security team of Afghanistan one think that came out clear was that the American government wants that the investments that have been made by it lead to a proper governance of Afghanistan.  Although there are still many decisions that have been left pending from both the sides, it seems that the people of Afghanistan can now dream that they would have a governing body ruling them and providing them security.
