In small countries one never knows what is the plight of the women. In the Caribbean islands lies a small place called Haiti. In spite of being a place where so much violence is prevalent yet efforts are being taken to protect and secure the women with various means of security in Haiti.
A large number of criminal cases, kidnappings, gang warfare and physical abuse against women had been reported. Security in Haiti for the women has taken a new turn as many efforts are being done to give them a sense of security. Earlier the women use to never report the cases of violence against them but with new modes to security have given them courage to fight for their rights. It has been made an effort that a women can report any kind of physical abuse against her to the police, governmental or non governmental institutions and hospitals. Efforts have been even made to make a separate section of security people or police that are dedicated to the violence against women in Haiti
Haitian women are allowed to take the decision and participate in various constitutional activities. Women that are politically strong are even encouraged to take part in elections so as to prevent and minimize the violence created by men against them. In fact Haitian women are a part of military and police. This is a big step for their security.
Security in Haiti for women is increasing as many efforts are being taken to make them aware towards their rights. They are allowed to be a part of the government, so that they can help themselves and can serve as a source to protect other women, as well. Local women right cells have been created to bring awareness and this shows that security features are being perked up a bit.
