Preventive Measures to tackle Child Trafficking in Haiti

The date of 12^th January 2010 was the most unfortunate in the history for the people of Haiti. The most disastrous earthquake happened on this day which resulted in the killings of more than 250,000 people and thousands of people were left injured. Ecological problem in Haiti is common and it is not the first time that earthquake has struck this country, but it is true that this type of earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 has struck for the first time and this is the only reason why people all over the world are surprised with this huge devastation. However, this disaster is not new and it is not natural but in fact it is created by human beings, themselves.

Child trafficking is another fear factor for Haiti and the authorities are worried for this reason. The earthquake left thousands of children homeless and orphans, so there could be a risk of human trafficking. Authorities are doing their every possible effort to control the situation. Haiti has suffered from the problem of child trafficking from the last several years and it can be a serious concern for the authorities even for future. One can easily find examples of child trafficking in sweatshops, farms, sex industry, domestic servitude and many other places. However, this is not enough as there are so many other places out there where one can find children working and being treated as labor.

Over the past several years, American Government has taken several steps in order to stop human trafficking but in Haiti, the conditions are really bad and it becomes quite difficult to control the situation. However, several security measures have been also taken to stop child trafficking and the population hopes that the authorities will combat with this problem very soon. Several preventive measures have also been taken to control human trafficking by the US authorities and these shall definitely help to control child trafficking. Due to severe earthquakes in Haiti, thousands of children are left homeless and the major factor of concern is that most of the orphanages in the city were also destroyed due to earthquake. This is the reason why so many orphanages are now in demand to keep Haiti children.

The orphan children are quite easy to take away, so this is the reason why most of the orphan children are the main victims. It is important to follow strict rules in the case of child trafficking. Most of the countries have followed this rule and there are several strict punishments available in US and other countries.
