Role of Canadian Forces in Haiti Rescue Operation

The combined efforts of UN and Canadian forces have provided great relief to the people of Haiti. The Canadian forces arrived immediately after the earthquake and they started their mission to save humanity instantly. It is an appreciable thing that several troops, helicopters and ships arrived to Haiti for the rescue operation. The Canadian soldiers continue their efforts to evacuate the people from damaged buildings and they have contributed a lot with UN forces in food distribution programs. The authorities of Canada told that it was impossible to control the people in Canada but the soldiers managed to control the entire population courageously.

Canada has taken great steps in the oath of saving humanity. Haiti is full of criminals and above all, the escape of 5000 prisoners lead to the serious concern for the soldiers of UN and Canada. The 5000 inmates who escaped on the day of earthquake are on the streets and Haiti Government is doing best efforts in locating those culprits. However, the situation in Haiti is said to be stable, thanks to the Canadian forces as they provided protection shield for the people of Haiti. They are doing every possible effort to reduce the street fights and other crimes. The contribution of both Canadian and UN forces provided great relief to the locales.

It is not enough, the Canadian and UN forces help the people in evacuating the people from buildings. The peacekeepers and soldiers are doing great efforts in reducing crime from Port-au-Prince. They also continue their relief efforts in Jacmel, 40 KM from Port-au-Prince. The food and relief supply is just impossible without Canadian forces. The disaster on Tuesday leads to the killings of around 250,000 people but the cases of buried people are still pending. Thousands of people became homeless but the condition is said to be stable there due to efforts from Canadian forces.

Apart from the help of Canadian forces Canada also contributed in providing medical aid to the people of Haiti. Various rescue camps are organized at different locations to provide medical help to the quake victims. The medical technicians in Haiti provided complete healthcare facilities to save their lives because the hospitals were completely destroyed. There were very few Haitians doctors available or rescued from the hospital and moreover, there were no antibiotics in the region. However, the doctors there provided all the possible medical facilities to the quake victims and still they are serving the injured people. They are serving around 100 patients a day.

The medical team is inspecting all the places and providing medical assistance to the people. They are inspecting the orphanages regularly to check injured people. This is a great effort by the medical team of Canada and they will be blessed by the Haitians. The process of evacuating earthquake victims is still going on and there is a hope to achieve stable condition very soon. So, once again it can be said that Canada plays crucial role in the rescue operation and saved thousands of lives.
