AmeriCorps Medical Facility Provide great Relief to Haitians

Haiti was struck by the deadliest earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 which resulted in the killing of around 250,000 people and left hundreds of thousands injured victims. Till date there were good amount of medical facilities delivered to the Haitians. Some teams of doctors were sent by other nations which are still providing complete relief efforts in order to save the lives of people. Haiti was one of the poorest nations in the western hemisphere and was destroyed by these types of natural disasters so many times. The recent news revealed that the people of Haiti survive at the daily wage of mere $2 a day. Haiti is also one of the countries that have poorest medical facilities and this is why a team of doctors and nurses arrived in Haiti on Wednesday to provide medical aid to the people.

The AmeriCorps provide complete healthcare facilities which include all types of medicines, physicians, doctors and nurses along with some health care professionals to assist the team of doctors. It is the bravest step of America towards humanity and of course they will be blessed by the people of Haiti. Children’s health is the main concern of doctors as in the population of 9 million, there are around 6 million children and most of the children die there due to malnutrition and infectious diseases. This is the reason why AmeriCorps arrived immediately from US to provide all types of medical facilities to the injured people. The medical help include help to the people who have suffered from injuries, infections, malnutrition, heart disease, pain, gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory infections, skin infections, burns and other diseases.

The medical aid also includes some surgical equipment, diagnostic tools and hygienic supplies. It also includes huge quantity of vitamins and minerals to avoid any type of birth defects and to protect the maternal health. There were disaster relief and emergency aid also provided to the people of Haiti. Haiti was always affected by the ecological problems but AmeriCorps has helped the needy people and this time again it has provided great relief to the people. In 2008, when Haiti suffered from 4 back to back storms, Americans helped the Haitians immediately. The disaster relief and emergency aid provide a perfect example of humanity in front of the whole world and this is not enough as they also provide medicines and other relief materials via helicopters. The other relief materials include some essential medicines, hygiene items, water purification tools, nutritional supplements and other stuffs.

AmeriCorps has been providing these types of humanitarian activities from 1984 partnering with a professional health care facility. AmeriCorps organized several medical camps at different locations in order to provide complete medical assistance to the people. The medical camps are provided with professional doctors, nurses, physicians and health care professionals. The military and police officials have helped the doctors a lot in bringing the injured patients to the medical camps.
