Child Trafficking in Haiti

The disastrous incident of earthquake in Haiti happened on 12^th January which resulted in the killings of around 250,000 people and left thousands of injured victims. The earthquake left thousands of orphans and it is important for all the people to come forward to adopt homeless orphans to enlighten his or her life with happiness. There are thousands of people who come forward to adopt a child but on the other hand, people forget that there is another darker side of life. Some people come to Haiti for the motive of child trafficking but get arrested at the border. It was a group which wanted to take 10 children to Dominican Republic and when interrogated, it was proved that this was case of child trafficking.

A group of ten Americans were arrested and they will be appearing in the courts of prince-au-Port very soon. The allegations involve that they are trying to take children out of the country without having proper documentation. It is a shameless act and they should be punished if found guilty. The accused people are in the custody of Police and they will appear in the court very soon. It was a gruesome act and Haiti Government assures the people that they will be punished for their act if found guilty.

This group was trying to take the children in a truck when a border security officer stopped them. The group said on their side that they were just trying to take the children to the new orphanage in Dominican Republic where 100 Haiti children were already housed. However, the government of Haiti said that if they have any document or approval, then they can show in the court to resolve the issue. The Haiti Government also said that without any proper document or approval, no one can take the children out of the country. It is out of the law and that the law breaker will be held guilty.

Adoption is a good step for people and the children as well. There are several orphanages built up in the country to house all the orphanages. This news has spread like wild fire in almost all the nations and there are different responses coming from different people all over the world. The orphanages in Haiti were crushed due to earthquake. The ten accused men said on their side that due to devastation of almost all the orphanages they were trying to take the children into new orphanages. This is the only reason behind their motive and it is really a misconception of Haiti Government and they are getting it wrong. In response to this, Haiti government said that they will hold an enquiry into the matter and sort out the exact reason.

Adopting a child is a noble thought and every one should take part in this act to enlighten life of homeless. Several Americans have adopted children from the orphanages and they are very happy with this. Child trafficking is a gruesome act of some people and they are humiliating the name of entire humanity.
