What is Taliban?
Taliban is a Sunni Islamic Political Movement of Afghanistan. This movement governed Afghanistan from the year of 1996 until it was overthrown in late 2001 during the Operation Enduring Freedom. This movement again started regrouping in the year 2004 and came out as a strong movement. There have been many guerilla wars in between Taliban and the governments of Afghanistan, Pakistan and International Security Assistance Force led by NATO.
Taliban is headed by Mullah Mohammed Omar, who is now hiding. United States first supported Taliban to restore order and peace in Afghanistan after so many years of lawless and corrupt environment. United States made no comments when Herat was captured by Taliban in 1995. Thousands of girls were expelled from schools.
Taliban later started considering that it cannot be removed or stopped, and it started framing its own laws and started engaging warlords. Later United States understood that Taliban is not faithful towards its duties which it was supposed to do.
Taliban’s source of income
In Afghanistan and in Pakistan there is rapid growth of poppy cultivation. This cultivation has been stopped many times but farmers say that they don’t have any other cultivation to do except poppy. When they are disturbed or when they are asked to stop this cultivation, farmers take help from Taliban and Taliban supports all such farmers.
Taliban is using poppy cultivation for manufacturing morphine and heroin. There is a great production unit working under Taliban for the manufacture of Heroin. Taliban has connections with various gangs and different agents in various parts of the world to supply the heroin and earn money. This money earned by selling heroin is used by Taliban for buying weapons and in doing all other things required for their terror business.
A person somewhere in the world using the deadly drug “Heroin” feels on the seventh cloud but that person does not know that it was him who helped Taliban and became the reason for another terror which will soon happen at some corner of world.
