Security system: Do you have it?

There was a very famous advertisement aired on the television channels by a reputed firm, which showed a couple of ‘well-mannered’ burglars ringing the door bell of an elderly resident, and politely asking him to open the front door himself as that would save them the trouble of having to break it down, and thus creating a mess all over the place. The punch line of the advertisement was that you cannot expect this to happen every time, so it is better to install a home security system and prevent any such cases. Even though this advertisement does portray the whole situation in a light hearted and casual manner, the underlying message is quite serious. With the increasing rates of burglary and break-in’s, it is prudent to accept these fruits of technology which indeed do help to abate these undesirable incidents to some extent.
And it is precisely for this reason that firms dealing with manufacturing of such security systems have found that their businesses have been burgeoning in the last couple of years. With the common man waking up to the needs of securing his property, and the increasing standard of living, even the mediocre households have turned to technical support to protect themselves and their properties. So there is a recent spurt in sales of close circuit cameras, motion detector alarms, video cameras, etc. Another good option is a home security safe, which can be used to store valuables, and are almost virtually impossible to break through, even in case of a successful break-in.
Now, the thing that should be kept in mind while installing these security systems is that your responsibility does not just end with the installation. Being alert and cautious has its own rewards. The human brain is far more ingenious than any machine can ever become, and burglars and thieves can eventually find a way to outsmart your security system if you are not vigilant enough. So, it is of paramount importance that you install them in strategic locations, where they will be able to cover the optimum range of vulnerable area. Another good idea may be to combine two different technologies, such as a motion detector along with a video camera, which makes it harder to outsmart the security system. And last, but definitely not the least, you need to be careful and alert at all times, because almost always, in the end, that is what matters the most.
