Security doors refer to doors equipped with security systems that allow or restrict entry according to a specific set of instructions that complies with the requirements of the concerned owner or authorities. It ensures increased security and protection for the people involved and their property. Doors equipped with security systems can be observed not only in privately owned houses but also in Cinema Halls, Shopping malls, banks, libraries and even corporate offices in increasingly large numbers. With the advent of stylish looks and elegant designs the security doors go well beyond ensuring just protection; they also bring with it a certain quotient of glamour.
Security doors come in a variety of designs and uses. Some of the most common ones include (1) Three and Four wing revolving doors, (2) High security automatic booth, (3) Half portal secure interlocking door, (4) Single entry interlocking door system and other multipurpose interlocking systems catering to the specific demands of the user. The spectrum of security doors is extended to include highly customised doors such as Secret doors or an invisible bookcase line. The mechanism of operation too is varied and ranges from mechanical to electrochemical and access-control solutions. Even Child-lock systems, metal detectors used in Airports, and doors with steel plates or fire resistant material are a variant of security doors.
While advanced security doors with electronic security systems, alarm monitoring and authorised access facilities are manufactured in a large scale by specific companies those meant to be used in private homes or small commercial concerns can be installed following a set of simple steps. First the security door and frame needs to be correctly positioned followed by an accurate marking of the drill-holes to be made. Next, one needs to drill straight through the interior and exterior walls followed by setting the screws and fixing the security door in place. Each hole thus drilled should be secured with a nut and a washer on the inside. Finally one can use a trim around the door frame to cover the bolts and add a touch of professionalism and elegance to the security door installed. However, one must use a helping hand and use protective gear while installing security doors.

This is a great article. I actually just put a security door on my house and it makes me feel much safer. You never know now a days with the times as tough as they are. Crime rate is still climbing and you just have to take every precaution that you can. Thanks for letting me share.
