Suicide Bombers

In the wake of recent terrorist attacks in the United States, such as the dreaded 9\11 attacks, suddenly suicide bombers have become one of the most preferred means favored by the terrorist outfits. A suicide attack is an attack with the purpose of killing others and to cause widespread damage, in which the attacker intends to die while carrying out the attack.
Even though the problem of suicide bombings has mushroomed recently, history is not without instances of such suicide attacks. The Bible recounts the story of the Jewish hero Samson, who carried out an attack on a Philistine temple, and died in the process. The Muslim Hash shins were trained and ruthless assassins who murdered in the hope that death while on a mission would lead them to paradise. During the Belgian revolution, a Dutch captain, Jan van Speiik blew up his ship near Antwerp so that it could not be captured by the Belgians. Modern suicide bombing as a political tool can be traced back to Russia, when the tsar Alexander II felt victim to Nihilist suicide bomber, Hryniewiecki, near the Winter Palace. Japanese soldiers conducted kamikaze, or suicide missions, on a large scale, at the end of World War II, notably by flying explosive laden aircraft into the Ally naval vessels.
In the last decade, the number of such suicide attacks has grown from around 5 to 10 per year to approximately 150 – 200 per year. However, not all such attacks are carried out by Muslim extremists, one notable exception being the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eel am in Sri Lanka. In places such as Israel, Gaza, suicide bombers are not covert operators, as these tactics are overtly supported by the Hamas and Fatah organizations there. However, the bulk of these attacks are carried out by the Islamic extremists, who mislead and twist the minds of the unsuspecting youth, indoctrinating them in their principles of hatred and malice. These young people are encouraged to give up their lives to “further the cause of their religion”, which supposedly makes them martyrs for the cause of their religion and wins them a place in paradise. these extremists exploit certain situations and entice the youth to embrace a life of terrorism, wherein they can prove their worth to their God and religion by massacring hundreds of innocent people in the name of jihad, despite the fact that the Holy Quran strictly prohibits murder and suicide.
