Alarm Monitoring and its benefits

alarm minitoringAlarm monitoring refers to the act of warning the user of a particular danger with the help of an electronic alarm system which consists of sensors connected to a control unit via low voltage wiring or a narrowband RF signal. There systems which serve the purpose of burglar or fire protection and also complicated multi-zone systems which cater to a spectrum of purposes besides providing necessary instructions to ward off or protect against the danger. These alarms can broadly be classified as home burglar or indoor alarm systems and industrial burglar or outdoor alarm systems. IT – alarm monitoring solutions are available over cellular GPRS and internet using security alarm panel for video verification. Let us now focus on some of the benefits that one can avail with an alarm monitoring system at his/her disposal:

1. An alarm monitoring system alerts the user to a specific danger thus securing his life and his belongings.

2. In case of an industrial perimeter it can be used to detect and delay the intruders before they can even approach the building. Its major advantage over a CCTV is that the performance of the latter is affected badly by weather conditions such as fog, rain, snow.

3. The problem of triggering false alarms associated with human guards can be reduced to a great extent with the use of alarm monitors equipped with microwave detectors coupled with passive infrared detectors called ‘Dual-Tec  Alarms’ .

4. In case infrasonic or ultrasonic frequencies (beyond audible frequency) are used to break or cut glass panes it can be taken care of by alarm monitoring systems.

5. Appropriate heat and smoke detectors may be paired with the alarm systems thus ensuring protection from concerned hazards.

6. The alarm systems may be equipped with a mechanism to detect any attack on the system itself thus ensuring further protection.

7.  New systems come with the additional facility of retrofit installation thus reducing space and costs incurred.

8. Fibre optic cables and wireless systems can be made use of which can detect for a distance of several km on a single sensor.

9. Alarm systems can also be used to authorise access to special laboratories and research centres.

10. The systems have low maintenance costs and are very cost-effective.

With terrorist attacks and crime rates swelling every day, the increasing trend of subscribing to the benefits of an alarm monitoring system should not strike as being unusual.

I thought this was the benefits of alarm monitoring not having an alarm system. You have pointed nothing out about the benefits of having a monitored alarm system, just having an alarm system. Most of those are not benefits just features.
