Vacations are the happy and refreshing times that we spend with our family and friends, away from the everyday monotonous daily life. Holidays rejuvenates us and makes us feel a lot younger, making us forget all our worries and prepare us to face the world and meet the new challenges of life with a new and energised zest.
A good holiday must have certain aspects fulfilled; one of the most important of these is SAFETY.
It is upon the planners and also the people who are holidaying to keep a few things in mind while enjoying their solitude.
PLANNING THE HOLIDAY
This is one of the most vital and first step towards a successful holiday.
A good planner keeps in mind the tastes and likings of all the people who are participating in the vacation. However it is more important to choose a place that is safe and all the participants can enjoy equally. For instance, he must consider the age of the people who are going for the holiday which would mean that he would not plan a trekking trip when elderly or very young people are involved.
The weather of the place to be visited and during what time of the year should also be kept in mind.
TRAVEL
The travelling involves in a holiday should be well chalked out. If anyone in the group has motion sickness like sea sickness or air sickness, then the conveyance has to be planned accordingly. It is very important to keep everyone healthy and fit during the holiday.
GENERAL SAFETY MEASURES
A prior knowledge of the place to be visited is an essential preparation for the holiday. One should know things like what they should be carrying and what not.
Medicines are a must; one must always carry some common medicines for fever, allergy, indigestion etc.
It is important to carry the local emergency number and police help line. In case of any unfavourable incidents or accidents, the right authority must be promptly informed.
Shopping in the holiday should be done keeping in mind the authenticity of the places you shop from.
In a camping vacation, one should invariably carry fire safety measures. The smoke detectors must be cleaned and their batteries changed.
While vacationing abroad, the passport and valid identification proofs should be well kept so that there is no event of misplacement.
In the trip, one should never trust strangers or hire any unauthorized tour guides. There may be dishonest people who may take advantage and rob you off your belongings.
Extension cords are used a lot while holidaying in home. These should be arranged in a proper way so that any kind of electrical accidents do not cause fire and spoil the holiday.
A safe holiday spent is a happy holiday spent. So a careful planning and proper execution of the plan is the way to a great holiday; an experience that fills our hearts with bliss and we cherish the memories forever in our hearts.
