Everyone mentions these cases of being sued for a dummy camera, but they always fail to provide any links to actual documented lawsuits.

I do believe all the ideas you have presented to your post. They're really convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too short for newbies. May you please lengthen them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.

So following the logic above........a person is being chased by a Pit bull and sees that my backyard has a fence. They run into my backyard, inside the fence because hey perceive it as a secure position to avoid the attack. However, the pit bull successfully jumps the fence and attacks this person. The dog is not mine and most certainly I am not liable for the injuries to this person. What about the concept of trespassing? I know that this post is old, but I just ran across it and felt compelled to respond.

Say employees sign a consent agreement or waiver stating that the company is not responsible for their safety because only some company vehicles contain real cameras and the rest contain dummy cameras, plus no one will know which vehicles have them. Is the company then liable for lawsuits or can legal action be taken against the company. Do we even have to announce there are dummy cameras at all?
Thank you

Each technology has both sides, the good and the bad. When installing a dummy camera or a fake security system one should bare in mind the risks of such decision. It is not easy to install a fake camera into your home which does nothing and cause you legal problems. Still, it is beneficial for those who are being attacked suddenly with the risk of the criminals being uncaught.

I've searched Westlaw (all state and federal cases) and have been unable to find a case involving Sears or Sheraton or any of the "dozens of cases on the records". Could you please provide me w/ a few cites?
