Ways to have a Safe Airline Journey

One has to face a lot of problems before boarding a flight like checking in the luggage at the airport, the security and airline rules and regulations, luggage laws etc. These are mandatory at all airports. Before arriving at the airport and instead of getting stuck in the queue during the security checks, it is better to be aware of the safety rules and avoid any sort of disturbance.

1)    Direct Route flights: Most of the cases related to airline accidents have been observed during the landing or taking off. It is better to take a direct flight to your destination to reduce the risk of meeting with an accident. This might cost you a little more but is certainly the better option. Another benefit of boarding a nonstop flight is that it saves your time which you end up losing during a stop in some other country.

2)    Listen to the messages carefully: It might sound boring and monotonous, but it is beneficial for you to know the emergency exits of the plane you are in. The pre-flight briefings make you understand all the basic features. Always keep your seatbelts fastened so that you have the extra protection from the injuries that might occur due to flight turbulence. It is important to listen to the attendants. They are present to serve you better and be there for your safety, so do not try and interfere with the services they provide you. The attendants are more than happy to help the passengers, so the best way is to let them do their job. If you need any help just ask them instead of trying it out yourself and messing up the whole situation.

3)    Overhead storage Bin: People tend to keep heavy objects on their overhead storage bins. The bins are not strong enough to bear the weight of heavy objects, so during takeoff you might experience a bag falling on you which could lead to a fatal mishap with you. Try keeping the heavy luggage somewhere else, or if possible, try and change your seat.

4)    Larger Aircraft: Recent survey has shown that the larger airplanes have a higher capacity to survive accidents than the smaller aircrafts. People are more secure in a larger plane than the small sized ones as the larger aircrafts provide better passenger survival rates.

5)    Comfortable Clothes: Whenever you set yourself up for a long airline journey, wear comfortable clothes. Half of your exhaustion is because of wearing tight fitted clothes. This is not just uncomfortable but also reduces your safety levels in the cabin.

6)    Bring permitted things: After the terror strikes, the security has been beefed up at all airports. Avoid bringing things like scissors, knives, blades or any such item that can harm someone. No matter how much you try to hide it, the security would not permit you to let those things inside. This would help the security personnel as well as you will save time by not being stopped for a longer duration

7)    Drinks: Drinking in the aircraft can cause serious problems to your health as you are pressurized by the atmosphere and can have more serious effects than those occurring at sea level.
