Childhood is the best age to teach your kids swimming as they can absorb and learn much faster at this stage of their lives. Young children also love to spend time frolicking in the waters and beating the heat of a hot summer’s day. If you are a habitual visitor to a local beach, a swimming pool or a river, you should keep the following safety tips in mind to ensure that your children remain safe in the water:

Before you allow your children to head out for a swim in a water body, make sure that it is safe and clean for swimming. Any area that is marked unsafe for swimming should be completely avoided as it can contain toxic and dangerous contaminants that may harm your health.

When at a swimming pool, your kids should never be left unsupervised. There must always be a trained instructor present to supervise their activities in the pool. The best thing is for you to sit at the wayside of the pool and observe your children especially if they are quite young and incapable of staying safe on their own.

You must never allow your child to dive into the water especially if it is shallow. This is very dangerous and your child can hit his/her head on the floor of the pool and suffer from serious injuries as a result. If at all you permit your child to dive, he/she must only do so feet first and not head first and in water that is considerably deep enough so as not to be injurious to him/her.

If there is a thunder storm or rain coming, you should immediately abandon the swimming pool and head out. This is because if the lightning hits an open pool, the water can act as a good conductor of electric charges and lead to a massive shock to those in the pool in such circumstances.

There are many viruses and bacteria that can be caught or picked up in and around the pool. Moisture is the perfect breeding ground for germs which make it all the more necessary to take proper precautions when it comes to hygiene. You should insist that your children take a proper shower before and after using the swimming pool. They must not visit a public pool when suffering from a cold or any other infection.

If your children are just learning how to swim, it is better to be safe than sorry and equip them with floaters to keep them above water. It is not that uncommon for children to drown even in a public swimming pool and only one wrong step can lead to such a mishap.

In case there is a slide at your local swimming pool, children should never be allowed to perform any kind of stunts that may endanger their lives or put them at risk of getting hurt. They should only use such slides in the way that has been prescribed and should not attempt to experiment in any way.

The above mentioned security tips can help your kids remain safe when learning how to swim. Swimming can then be an enjoyable activity instead of causing you anxiety and stress about your kids’ safety. These guidelines can be instructed to your kids so that they learn how to be responsible when in the water.

Security system is an essential part of the whole thing and needs a lot of care and attention. Various firms provide security. But some basic points should be known to get the most out of these. The systems are built for marine purposes and should be able to withstand the rough weather and all other sea going hazards. The systems should be user friendly and minimise the risk of false alarm. The basic maritime security system includes

Alarm systems: the alarm systems are that which signals everyone at the first response of insecurity. It tells everyone to get cautious by making a high pitched noise and simultaneously glow red lights to alert everyone

Pre-warning systems: these are basically semi or fully autonomous systems that are capable of warning early before any greater disaster strikes. They are mainly positioned offshore and have sensors that continuously monitor the weather conditions. Any chance of bad condition is reported.

GSM dial-out: some devices are made to respond to mobile phone calls and sms like alerting the nearby police or authorities responsible for security. Many such devices are used for fast reliable response in any weather condition.

Vessel and equipment tracking: these are tracking devices that track boats and vessels beyond the normal visibility range. The mostly use GPS but may also use proprietary systems. After confirming their real-time position the data is fed back to some computers placed in a secure location.

Remote surveillance: it is the most advanced and expensive surveillance system. The whole vessel along with other sensitive equipments is remote observed through a set of cameras, microphones and the remote connection is made through internet, wired or wireless. The CCTV cameras and other intrusion detection systems provide a very good and robust system available in all weather conditions.

Diver detection sonar: a large threat comes from divers diving in restricted areas. This system detects and warns divers or any unauthorised personnel in secure area.

Boundary protection: this system makes sure that he perimeter is not breached. There are poles placed at various locations around the periphery that continuously monitor all incoming vehicles and traffic and reports of any intrusion.

Screening systems: these are large sensors to detect illegal or hazardous chemicals or even human trafficking. Advanced detection systems include millimetre wave, chemical sensors, X-ray machines etc.

Fire detection systems: these are also very important besides the other systems as fire can cause heavy damage if it cannot be controlled. These include flame sensors and smoke detectors.

Security is a very important aspect that should never be neglected. Now even cheap alarm systems are available for personal use. Price of equipment along with the ease of usability should be properly checked before any such system is used because a small hole in the security can grow to a large problem in the whole system.

This technology has found its application in both civil and military arenas. It is mostly used for navigational purposes by military organizations, research institutions, and commercial establishments and also by individuals. This system makes use of three satellites that orbit the earth and transmit radio signals. By implementing radio receivers the GPS satellites are able to detect the position of a particular entity via a method called Triangulation. Thus GPS can be found pre-fitted in cars, ships and also in individual hand-held units.

Triangulation is a method in which three different points are measured to determine the position or location of the target object. GPS uses this triangulation method to inch perfection. For instance the GPS fitted in car takes the values received from the three satellites while giving the exact location of the receiver. GPS radio signals operate in different frequencies. There are actually two distinct frequencies used- one for the civilian purpose and the other for military purpose. Since GPS is based on radio waves these waves can easily be tracked or jammed through instruments and devices with a little bit of expertise in this field. The GPS jammers have been built for military use and hence most civilians are not acquainted with its application. Most civilians would fail in creating such a home-made device without proper knowledge. Simple radio wave interference technique cannot be implemented to block the radio signals of GPS.

The GPS jammers are used by the military organizations to confuse the enemy regarding the accurate location of GPS directed missiles or bombs that are programmed to hit. The GPS jammers can be used by civilians in order to conceal one’s location. Most GPS jammers have a range of 10meters which is enough to track the largest of the vehicles.

The GPS jammers are regarded as illegal to build or use in many countries due the potential threat of misuse. A GPS jammer can be used to confuse any vehicle or an aircraft and can be possibly used in creating mishaps. Some GPS jammers are so designed to jam the civil GPS only. The access of civilian GPS into military GPS is not authorized and thus no one can sign in to a military format of GPS.

Government officials are concerned about the article recently published regarding the making of a GPS jammer at home. The instructions have claimed to require only cheap and easily available material while building a home-made GPS. The GPS devices used for commercial purposes such as in vehicles and cars can be put into an immense amount of risk if home-made GPS jammers are made incessantly. The instructions have been provided to build GPS jammers having a range of several hundred feet. The design of such a home-made device has been kept simple and any bachelor in Electrical Engineering can try his hand in it. These jammers can jam devices operating in the frequency range of 1575.42MHz. The components used are easily available. These home-made jammers have been aimed to jam only the civilian GPS frequency, yet the experts say that these jammers would be targeting the C/A code which can even threaten the military systems, since most military signals must first acquire C/A signal to operate.

Many GPS jammers have been invented lately that are easy to install and use. But as a responsible citizen of the country these jammers should be used by the individuals not guided by any wrong intention. No objection can be raised until these jammers hamper the country’s internal and external security.

Bluetooth is a wireless connecting method that can allow connections between phones, laptops or computers attached with Bluetooth devices. It is a technology developed in 1994 to facilitate exchange of data in short distances. The connection is generally achieved by finding out the active devices and then pairing them that creates the wireless link allowing the transfer of data to take place. This method is generally used as an alternative to using of data cables.

SAFETY CONCERNS –

Though the use of Bluetooth is very widespread, because it’s the most common way of transferring texts, photos or music files between two phones, but it has some concerns of its own, which everyone should take care of.

Distance of use – The Bluetooth connection is generally applicable to a distance of 10 to 20 metres, and this effective distance varies from device to device. Though recent developments of the technology allows it to be used over distances of 100 metres, but more the distance, less is the effective speed of transfer. So the devices should be kept as close as possible to use it efficiently.

Interference – The medium and wireless channels used in all Bluetooth devices is same. So one of the important issues is the air medium interference where one set of paired device interferes with another, and the data transfer can be hindered in both of them. So one should be aware of the other active devices nearby, and can wait till the other transfer takes place.

Encryption issues – Previous versions of Bluetooth had a few encryption methods, but generally didn’t use them. In newer versions, encryption is used in every possible connection but requires it to be turned off while transferring the data. So it needs to be taken care of manually. Moreover the security encryption key for a particular data transfer is just valid for one day, and one must keep in mind to change it once the transfer has taken place.

Security – Security is one of the major issues in any kind of data transfer nowadays. Even Bluetooth is not completely safe despite its encryption methods and safety measures. An efficient hacker can easily infiltrate the securities of Bluetooth or can decode the encryption key being used and can take full control over a phone or other devices. Bluetooth is even prone to virus attacks. Once a virus enters a device, it can affect the other devices it’s being connected to. Though hack attacks can’t be possibly avoided, but one can reduce the chance of a virus attack by making sure the device it’s being connected isn’t already infected.

Health Concern – This is perhaps the most important issue to be taken care of. Bluetooth works on microwave radio signals, and emits a lot of radiations when transferring data. These radiations are harmful for one’s health, and if one stays in its field of radiation for a very long time, it can cause severe damages to the brain.

Though Bluetooth has some disadvantages, but its usefulness can cancel them out and may still have some positive points to it. If you can take care of the issues and use it properly, it’s probably the most effective way of transferring data over wireless channels.

Amusement parks can be quite fun to visit and form an important and inherent part of the growing up years. Families that go for trips to amusement parks can make it an occasion to remember bringing back memories that can be cherished forever as these places offer a variety of entertainment options for the young and old alike. The rides appeal to the thrill-seeking tendencies in our hearts and make for a pleasurable experience. However, most of us ignore some crucial aspects related to safety when embarking on such a visit. Below are a few pointers to keep in mind if you have such a trip lined up with your family in the near feature to make sure that your trip does not turn into a scary experience:

Young children visiting with you may want to wander off alone when they see something that appeals to them. You should ensure that this does not happen and there is no situation when any child is left entirely alone in the amusement park no matter how safe the place may seem.

You should give clear instructions to your children to remain with the group and to take your permission before they go on a ride as it may be dangerous for them.

As most part of the amusement park is built in the open, your skin can be exposed to the harsh rays of the sun. So, it is better to wear light, cotton fabrics that cover your skin. You should also carry a few essential items like a water bottle and a strong sunscreen that you can re apply from time to time to safe yourself from heat stroke.

You should never be reckless and try to secure yourself a seat on a ride that is not appropriate for you. The rules and regulations regarding who can take a particular ride have been formulated by the park authorities after careful deliberation and exist for your safety. The seating on some rides may have been built in such a way so as to be completely ineffective on people with short height. So, cheating your way onto such a ride can lead to disastrous consequences and even threaten your life.

If you are an adult with certain heart related problems, it is advisable not to take rides that consist of jerky and sudden movements or plunges as you can even have a fatal heart attack on such a ride with no way to obtain medical help.

You should keep a close watch on the people that are running the rides in case the rides are manually operated. If you find that any such worker is not doing his/her job properly and is inefficient in any way, you must immediately complain to the concerned authorities to correct such behavior.

Before going on a ride, you must read all the safety instructions related to it and follow them to the hilt. You should also instruct others with you to do the same and ask them to keep their body parts inside the ride and not to fling them out.

Keeping in mind the list of guidelines compiled above can play an important role in keeping you safe and secure. Amusement parks can be a fun way to spend your vacation or a day off as long as safety instructions are kept in mind and not flouted mindlessly.

1. Only give your mobile number to people you trust.

2. Never reply to text messages from people you don’t know.

3. Make sure you know how to block others from calling your phone. Using caller ID you can block all incoming calls or block individual names and numbers.

4. Make record of your Electronic Serial Number (ESN) and/or your International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. Find out your IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your mobile phone’s keypad, it will display a 15 digit number – that is your IMEI number.

5. If your phone is lost or stolen, report it to your local police station and your network operator immediately.

6. Think about how a text message might be read before you send it.

7. You should never give anyone else’s number out without asking them if it is okay.

8. You should never take pictures or videos of anyone with your phone if you do not have their permission.

9. Do not allow others to take pictures or videos of you without your permission. Remember — these pictures and videos can be posted to the Internet.

10. Be careful if you meet someone in real life who you only “know” through text messaging. Even though text messaging is often the “next step” after online chatting, that does not mean it’s safer.

My Mom does a lot of strange things and one of them is to hide her cell phone in her bra, which got me to thinking – why not hide your money in your bra too? Well, as it turns out, it’s not necessarily a new idea. Rather, it’s one that retailers have already caught onto – at least the general idea.

Take for instance, Lewis N. Clark. They sell a product dubbed the personal bra stash. The stash connects to the bra with two straps and two snaps. The makers promote that this stash is made of soft lingerie fabric that is lightweight and comfortable against the skin. Does this beat hiding money in your shoe?

Next, we have the Secret Keeper pouch aimed at the “the woman on the go” who doesn’t like to carry a purse and apparently has no pockets. No matter your size or style, this pouch fits easy inside any bra. It comes in four different colors too. (If you buy now, you get a bonus smudge remover!)

To some, such methods might seem cheap and tacky, while others see it as innovative and safe. What do we think? The answer is never a simple one, but we know robbers go for the easy hit. Unless someone sees you reaching inside your bra (or general area) to get your money, most won’t be the wiser. After all, if a purse snatcher doesn’t see a purse he has nothing to snatch! Please no jokes here.

We are now using this useful tool in our daily interactions on a frequent basis and many tasks cannot be completed without it. However, opening certain kinds of e-mails can be highly dangerous and bring your systems crashing down with very little chances or recovering lost data or information. However, there are certain tips that you can keep in mind to ensure that you remain safe while using e-mail.

You should re-check the privacy setting in your account as soon as you sign up for an account on any website. You should create specific settings so that you receive e mail only from people that you know and not from strangers prowling the net.

You should remember that your bank or any other such authority whose services you may be availing will never send you an e mail that asks you to provide your password or any other such confidential information. So, it is best to call up your bank and check in with them regarding any such e mail that you may have received as it is likely to be a phishing related scam. Once you reveal such information, unscrupulous elements can take over your identity and commit crimes in your name with you being held accountable for activities that are performed under your name.

You should never open e mail that has been classified as junk through your e mail controls. All e mails coming into your inbox are thoroughly checked by the website and when they are found to be free of offensive material, they can be seen in your inbox. Otherwise they go to the junk folder as they may have been found to contain viruses that may threaten the health of your system. It is important to protect yourself well against this virus threat.

You should never remain logged in from a public computer or a system at your friend’s place. The person who may sit on the same system after you leave can have access to all your information if you forget to log out or close a certain window when you leave. So, you should make sure that you have closed your account before you head out.

If you receive calls asking for your e mail id’s password, you should never provide it until and unless you have thoroughly verified the credentials of the caller. You can do so by calling back the number from which you may have received the call and making some enquiries.

You should never click on attachments or download files that appear to be fishy. It is better to be safe than sorry in this case and make all the files that you receive undergo a through scan to rule out the presence of malware or spyware.

If you receive links to webpages and click on them and something unexpected pops up, you may be visiting a cloned webpage that has been specially designed to gather information about you. One must be weary of such sites as they can be used to extract useful information that may be quite harmful for you.

The tips formulated above can help protect your system and uphold the safety and security of your computer. Most viruses that infect computers are found to have infiltrated the system as a result of the carelessness and callousness of the users involved who allow their entry by clicking on certain links that they should not have clicked on.

The traditional fireplace forms a vital part of a lot of households around the world even today although some modern versions of it may have developed in the form of electric or gas fires. However, a conventional wood fire still has a charm of its own and can be observed in many homes in different areas. They provide a cozy atmosphere while also giving warmth to the inhabitants of the household. But, a certain amount of risk cannot be ruled out in case you have a fireplace area at your home. Certain safety measures need to be kept in mind to ensure that your house or nearby objects do not catch fire or come to any harm because of stray flames or any other such discrepancy. Some of them have been enumerated below:

A fire in the fireplace must only be started as per pre-specified instructions. If you are not aware of the basics of lighting such a fire, you should not attempt to do so through a hit and trial method. It is better to consult someone who is knowledgeable on the subject to assist you to do the same.

These days, lots of modern homes are equipping their fireplace areas with glass doors to prevent any sparks from falling onto the surrounding areas. These glass doors not only keep you safe but also enhance the décor and look of your room. They are available in many shapes, designs and colors and are an item worth investing in.

You can also fire-screen that keeps the fire in a certain periphery and keeps the flames in control. The models that come in hard metal are highly resistant and durable and will serve you well in maintaining a safe fire.

You should never use combustible fuels like cooking oil or coal to initiate or start a fire as the effects can be devastating in some cases when there is a sudden, unexpected rise in flames due to a draft. It is better to play it by the rules and start the fire using a piece of paper and throwing it onto the wood meant for this purpose.

The wood that is used should be strictly store bought and not any kind of wood can be inserted into the fireplace and set on fire as the consequences can be fatal in some cases. You may also find it difficult to contain the fire if the kind of logs that you are using is not meant for the fireplace in your house.

It is best to keep young children away from a fireplace and make this area inaccessible for them. This is because young children can be quite inquisitive and unmindfully try to touch the fire with their bare hands causing them to burn.

You should never leave your house when the fire is still burning in the fireplace. Adequate measures must be taken to ensure that not even a single flame or spark can be observed before you head out of the house no matter what the emergency.

If the above mentioned tips are followed and remembered, the fireplace can become a source of comfort and warmth and the possibility of any accidents occurring can be completely ruled out. It takes only a single stray spark to set a piece of furniture and subsequently even the whole house or building on fire.

The lifespan of a person who eats foods rich in nutrients tends to be a few years longer than someone who does not really think about what he/she is eating on a daily basis. There are some particular types of substances that give direct benefits to your body and make you stronger, healthier and more immune to diseases. Including them in your diet can help you reap many advantages and alter your lifestyle in a significantly positive manner. Here are a few changes that you can make in your regular diet to become healthy and keep diseases at bay.

The importance of including enough calcium in your diet can never be underestimated. This is one element that needs to form an imperative part of your growing up years and needs to be consumed regularly in order to remain physiologically strong. The best source for obtaining calcium is undoubtedly a glass of milk. However, one must be careful while consuming dairy products as an adult as the high fat content can lead to the onset of diseases like diabetes, heart disease, clogged arteries, etc. It is best to go in for fat-free cheese, butter and yoghurt. Skimmed milk should form an important part of the diet. If you have enough calcium in your body, you will never develop crippling diseases like arthritis or osteoporosis that are said to be quite common these days.

Soya is another product that you can include in your diet. It can replace regular milk and is very useful for people who are lactose intolerant and are not able to meet their nutritional requirements of obtaining enough calcium. Soya is also a contributing factor in keeping cholesterol levels low. They have also been known to bring down the cholesterol of people who suffer from high cholesterol problems. Soya can be included in your diet in the form soya milk, soy nuts, tofu, soya beans, etc. It is also a rich source of protein and is ideal for vegetarians.

Roughage is an element without which a healthy diet is incomplete. Roughage aids the digestive system in a considerable way. It takes a longer time to digest roughage which helps you feel full longer and also keeps your weight in check. It makes the bowel movements better if consumed on a regular basis. Roughage can be acquired by eating lots of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables with their peels and skins on. Oatmeal, brown rice, bran and other whole wheat cereals are also a great source of roughage. They are said to be very good for the health of a vital organ in your body i.e. the heart.

Green vegetables are your best friends if you want to remain healthy well into old age. They keep premature blindness at bay and help you age gracefully and in a manner so as to enable your body to remain fit. They are also helpful in preventing certain types of cancers that can snatch away your life prematurely.

Making a few easy dietary changes and including the above mentioned foods in your diet gradually can help transform your life and can make it much healthier than it presently is. Nothing can beat good health when it comes to striving for happiness and only a healthy body can house a healthy mind that makes for success in life.

The World Wide Web is an open space often referred to as the cyber space. The transmission of data is quite risky as it may be accessed by anyone. So there arose a need for privacy and encryption of data to be transmitted so that the data could easily be transmitted without the knowledge of the others on the cyber space about the content of the data. Secure Sockets Layer is actually protocol. The idea of this protocol was first conceived by the web browser giant Netscape navigator and they came up with the Secure Sockets Layer or as popularly known as SSL. It was formulated for the transmission of documents privately in a secured and encrypted manner on the internet.

The Secure Sockets Layer or the SSL uses simple cryptographic techniques for data transmission. This protocol primarily uses two keys for the encryption of data. The first key is the Public Key which is known to everyone and the other one is the Private or Secret key which is only known to the recipient for decrypting the data received. SSL is supported by the Netscape Navigator as well as by the Internet Explorer for secured transmission of the private data.

The usage of the above mentioned keys ensures safe and secure transmission of data which is private in nature and not of mass interest. Though the secret key should be with the recipient but both the side must possess the public keys. The sending of the public keys somehow compromise with the security of the data transmitted but then also the data remains safe due to the usage of the private or the secret key. A SSL certificate plays a great role. It provides a method of verification process to verify whether the Public Key has been tampered with or not. This is a powerful mechanism to prevent data from the MITM (Man-in-the-Middle) that could attack and tamper with the data transmitted.

SSL Certificates should be relied upon or else anyone in the middle could attack and modify the data transmitted. It is a herculean task for the recipient or the end user to verify manually each and every certificate that comes into play. So CAs (Certificate Authorities) has been created. They have a check on the certificates received and permit the SSL certificates, which let the user to browse on the data normally at the same time having proper security measures already taken for the data received.

Afters CA signs a certificate, it is installed onto the end user’s system. The installation procedures for most of the SSL Certificates are quite simple and with small changes in the dedicated server wherein they would be installed, this procedure could easily be carried out. After being installed Certificates normally work till their date of expiry, which in general cases they may extend up to a period of one year starting from the date when they are issued. SSL certificates generally are functional in the domain for which they are meant to be and for the domain for which they are signed.

Burglars, thieves, attackers and rapists attacking on people specially women, beware of the very fine invention of science, the Cell Phone Stun Gun. It is the best self defense instrument for women or old peoples travelling alone in day to day life. These artificial cell phones slip perfectly into hand bags, purses, belts and pockets. Once such a situation arrives, one has to just point it at the criminal and press the trigger. It certainly makes the criminal numb and leaves him in a shock for moments, enough for the prey to run away from the situation. This non-lethal but quite strong device is the ultimate protective weapon to beat today’s crime.

Cell phone stun gun is a kind of electroshock weapon used basically to paralyze a person by giving him a momentarily electric shock. This electric shock disrupts the muscle function superficially. These stun guns basically fires projectiles that instill shock into the person through direct contact by releasing electric charge into the person’s body. It is non-lethal and causes only temporary shocks by over charging the muscles. The longer a person presses the trigger, stronger the shock a person gets. It also has a safety switch, which is activated so that it does not harm anyone. These stun guns use a technology of temporary low-current and high-voltage electric discharge to paralyze the body’s muscular mechanisms. The prey gets shocked by two metallic probes connected by metal wires to the stun gun. The person receiving feels the pain and momentarily gets paralyzed as electric current is applied. Using this cell phone stun gun on more sensitive body parts can cause more pain. The most effective areas to use these stun guns are upper shoulders, upper hip and lower rib cage portion. Though high voltage is used, but due to alternating frequency and skin effect of the body, a large amount of current is prevented to be travelling through the body. Thus the permanent shock is mainly caused by twitching of muscles uncontrollably, causing muscular spasms.

Most of the cell phone stun guns available in the market are within 800,000 to 2.7 Million Volts. They have additional features like flash lights to light up and guide the person to the car or way to escape. Externally these phones are a replica of regular cell phones with slender body and 4 inches tall. They include 3 CR2 batteries, a holster and few are rechargeable also. Additionally they are available in various colors too.

Winding up shortly, a person before owning these cell phone stun guns should also look into the laws of the country he/she lives in. This is because some cities as well as countries like Australia, United Kingdom and Canada restricts owning personal stun guns. As these are totally safe stun guns and they cause no permanent harm, hence these provide the user another tool to feel safe in today’s alarmingly dangerous environment.

But all the police and firemen and EMS workers in the world can’t be there to protect you 24/7. So taking charge of your own personal safety is the first step to keeping yourself out of danger.

Women are becoming more and more independent and are masters of their own destiny in most parts of the world. These days, one can frequently observe women venturing out alone to have a drink or two at a local pub or disc and beat the stress of their day. However, the increasing incidents related to violence against women and rapes forces us to consider whether we are doing enough to ensure our safety when spending time at pubs and clubs.

The following tips have been assembles and should be kept in mind by all women who wish to remain safe and secure when out dancing the night away at a club:

You should be completely aware of all the people who are present in your surroundings. If you feel uneasy talking to someone or being around someone that you have just met, you should trust your intuition and walk away before the situation has a chance of deteriorating.

If you have come to a pub to down a few drinks, you should ensure that you only drink to your capacity and do not have one too many drinks and end up becoming drunk. This can cause complete loss of awareness and make you reckless. You can end up getting involved in dangerous situations that you otherwise would have stayed away from if you had been sober.

It is common to meet new guys who may ask you out on a date or show interest in you. You should never bow down to peer pressure and only give a positive answer to someone if you are completely sure of the person approaching you. If you misjudge a new person, you can easily end up in threatening situations that may become difficult to get out of later on.

You should ensure that your cell phone’s battery is completely charged when you venture out to a pub alone so that you are never completely cut off from your friends and well wishers. The numbers of a few trusted people should be kept on speed dial so that you can inform them immediately about your whereabouts if you sense danger.

It is vital for every woman to carry a small bottle of pepper spray in their bags or pockets. This weapon can come quite in handy when you are under the wear of getting molested and are at a lonely place at the backside of the pub or club. You should also avoid venturing out alone in shady parts of the club with anyone that you have just met.

If you find someone stalking you are disturbing you in any way, it is better to be safe than sorry and approach the bouncers and security persons in order to complain so that such elements can be rooted out.

If the above mentioned tips are followed, you can remain safe and sound at all times no matter where you go. Before heading out to a club that you have never been to, you should enquire about the kind of people that are usually present there so that you do not end up being at places where you do not want to be.

If you are a frequent cyclist, there can be many dangerous and threatening situations that can befall you on the road. The number of accidents involving bikes is on the rise and such accidents can be the worst ones as they can even cause death. The cyclist is totally exposed to all the elements of the surrounding and merely falling off can result in grave injuries that require serious treatment. However, there are certain safety measures that you can follow when riding a bike to ensure that you remain safe and secure at all times on the road:

You should never leave home without adequate safety gear as it can even save your life in a bad situation. You should don proper knee pads, elbow pads and a strong and sturdy helmet before you start cycling. This reduces the risk of serious head injuries by almost fifty percent.

You should wear bright clothing when you go out on the road as this keeps motorists aware of your presence. Your visibility level also increases which in turn reduces the chances of someone hitting your cycle.

You should avoid cycling in rainy or stormy weather as the tires of a conventional bike are completely unsuited to handle wet and slippery terrain. It is better to wait for the weather to clear up before venturing out on your bike.

You should refrain from riding your bike at night and if you have to do so, you should have a head light fitted onto the front of the bicycle so that the car drivers are aware of your presence in the darkness.

You should never attach any body part or any part of your bicycle to any other fast moving vehicle on the road. This leads to you losing control of the way your bike is being ridden and leaves your fate in the hands of the person driving the vehicle to which you have latched on to. This practice is quite the norm and is especially dangerous on highways.

You should follow all road traffic rules and never try to overtake any other vehicle unmindfully. You should look behind at least twice before your proceed to change lanes on the road as sudden oncoming bikes can cause a car driver to panic and result in you being hit.

You should never drive your bike in the opposite direction of traffic. Any vehicle can hit you at a fast speed and send you flying to the ground resulting in serious harm.

Some cities have designated, separate paths for pedestrians, cyclists and other two-wheelers. If your city has such a provision, you should make full use of them as riding here ensures your safety. You should never try to ride in the lanes that are meant for faster moving vehicles.

You should follow pre-set paths and known routes and not venture into areas that you are not familiar with on your own. If you have to do so, you should only do so in a large group.

The above mentioned tips can help you remain safe when riding a bike and save you from unfortunate accidents that occur every year on quite a large scale. If you keep your safety in mind and do not indulge in reckless driving, you can have secure and happy journeys on your bike for a lifetime.

Identity theft is becoming a very serious issue in the US with around nine million Americans suffering from the consequences of this crime every year. There has been a spurt in the number of identity theft cases reported in recent times with the invention of plastic money in the form of credit cards and increasing dependence on bank credit. Although it may not seem like a dangerous crime, in certain cases it can completely transform your life for the worse depending on the purpose for which your identity has been stolen.

There are many ways that criminals can use to obtain information about your identity like your credit card number, your debit card number, your passwords, your social security number, etc. They can then proceed to commit any act under your name as they will not be held accountable for it. On the contrary, you may be held responsible for any theft or fraud committed in your name. Even loans taken on your name may be pinned on you even if you have nothing to do with them. This aspect if identity theft is what makes it highly risky.

There have recently been many reported cases of identity theft in the United States of America alone. In one such case, a woman was called by a person who was impersonating bank staff. Trusting the genuineness of the identity of the caller, the woman parted with all confidential information with the result being quite grave. She faced empty bank accounts and the loss of her hard-earned money.

Another case that is worth being quoted here is the one in which a man applied to a tourist agent so as to avail a tourist package to the European continent. After submitting his passport for this purpose, the man never heard from the fraudulent agent again. Intelligence reports state that there is a huge passport market operating in the world with a huge demand for American citizenship passports that sell for thousands of dollars. This makes it imperative that you remain very careful regarding who you hand over your original passport to. Wherever possible, you should try to submit copies of your passport and refrain from handing over your original document as it forms an inherent part of your identity. The person who may travel using your passport can conduct any kind of illegal activity internationally for which you will ultimately be held responsible irrespective of your actual involvement.

There has been a recent spurt in phishing and scam e mails that are targeted at bank customers. The e mails are cleverly disguised as official correspondence e mails and your online banking password and username may be demanded. There are many people who have fallen prey to this effort on the part of the perpetrators to retrieve information and as a result have ended up losing their identity. The loss of one’s identity can cause a lot of stress and anxiety and one may have to approach multiple channels to get relief. This makes it important to guard yourself stringently against such threats.

This is the only way to make sure that your family or office is as safe as possible when you are at home or work. One of the best things you can do is to get one of the many different security products. There are many different types available, so you will need to do your research before you choose what you want to get.
