Not plastic! You would never know that this camera is not real. You must see it to believe it! An Excellent Value!

Fake security cameras are replicas of genuine security cameras, which are non-functional, and are only the replicas of the original ones.

The fake security cameras are used to make people believe that the area is under vigil surveillance and in realty they do not do any video monitoring. Very often, there may be trespassers, doing illegal acts. If they see the fake camera it may detour them from the crime for fear of being identified. They are used mostly in places such as homes, business, restaurants or departmental stores, where there are possibilities of minor thefts.

The cheapest variety of fake or dummy cameras comes with plastic lenses instead of the real ones. They can also be the broken real camera or even the outer body of a real one. Whatever it is, its purpose is only to make the people believe that it is monitoring the area. It is very common for real cameras to come in a set with fake ones, which look exactly as the real ones.

Since the fake cameras work is only deluding people, its appearance should be appropriate. The point I want to put across is that it should have a metallic exterior, as the real ones. You can check the 05-WI battery operated fake camera by Winn Security Products. If has an anodized aluminum solid metallic exterior and a blinking light so as to look original.

This fake security camera is an exact match to real cameras. Winn Security Products challenges you to see the difference. Winn Dummy Cameras are the most realistic simulated video cameras on the market today. Winn fake security cameras will fool criminals into believing you have a real video camera system. This dummy camera can be installed easily in seconds and designed for indoor or outdoor use. Looks identical to the real cameras others sell with a flashing red LED light.

You don’t want to announce to everyone that you are using fake surveillance cameras. You want to let everyone think, except the people that need to know, that you have more than one security camera. Having these cameras will help you have respectable security because when burglars see the dummy cameras they will usually move on because they don’t want to take a chance of getting caught on video and they won’t know that you are only using dummy security cameras

If you need more than one and an even more accurate replica, you can go for the video security 4-piece bullet dummy cameras. They come in a set of four and are mounted on brackets and have real lenses. Many thieves are capable enough to differentiate between a real and fake lens! For them this can be ideal.

In places where security is a necessity, the dome ceiling mount dummy cameras are in lots of areas. In this type too, fake cameras are available. Now this can be put anywhere including your house or office. It stands around 2.74 inches and looks like the exact copy of the original. This too has a red light blinking to ensure its authenticity.

Many real cameras are installed with motion sensors, so that the camera turns side to side when it detects movement. There are dummy cameras that due this also. With a motion sensors installed into them, for even if it is not monitoring, yet it can sense movement and move, thereby giving the impression that it is real. Thus some fake security cameras are quiet functional!

Not all security DVRs are created equal. That’s why it is important to know the key features of a DVR before you make a decision on which one to purchase. Here are some key factors.

DVR hard drive –

A DVR hard drive is what your video and images are stored on. The size of the hard drive determines how much footage you will be able to record. According to Home Security Store technician Matt Apperson, it is recommended that a security DVR have at least a 250GB hard drive. This will get you about 84 hours (3 ½ days) of high quality video if recording continuously with four cameras in quad mode.

Number of Channels –

Before you buy a DVR you should decide how many cameras you would like to use. That’s because the number of channels your DVR has will determine the number of cameras you will be able to use. Apperson recommends, depending on the size or your home or business, that you have at the very least 4 channels. A typical security DVR has 4, 8, or 16 recording channels.

Pentaplex Operation –

You will want your DVR to have pentaplex operation. A pentaplex DVR allows you to view, record, playback, back-up, and remotely control your DVR all at the same time.

H.264 Compression Technology –

H.264 compression is used for efficient file transfer and storage. Apperson says your security DVR should have this video format compression to allow you to save more video on less hard drive. Basically, it’s like defragging your computer.

Web Capable and/or Web Ready–

Many DVRs are web capable and/or web ready. Web capable means your DVR is internet compatible and can be set-up as such. Web ready means the DVR has its own embedded server and it basically a plug-and-play device right out of the box. DVRs can also be Blackberry, iPhone, and/or 3Gphone compatible.

In addition, your security DVR should allow you to record on a continuous mode, a motion detection mode, when a sensor is triggered, and by a timed schedule. The unit should also allow for control over recording quality and frame rate. Plus, allow you to search by event, time, date, and camera.

Remember, a security DVR used in a home or business can cost anywhere from $350 to $3000 depending on your needs and expectations. Therefore, you should arm yourself with knowledge before you pull out that checkbook.

Are they really watching you? What for?

High Tech Surveillance Goes To Work

Remember the Holocaust? Jewish prisoners toiled under heavy guard of the Gestapo. They were kicked or shot to death on the spot if they didn’t perform well. The Gestapo was worse than the present day video surveillance. But that scenario is long past gone and buried in the memories of the survivors. Life goes on.

In the manufacturing assembly line, you watch thousands of cans rolling along. There are no guards to poke you in the ribs when you blink. You stifle a yawn and eye the rolling cans on the conveyor, to spot defects in shape because of two things:

1. you love your job since it puts food on the table.
2. and there’s those bugs watching.

When the whistle blows for a break things screech to a halt and you rush for your mug of steaming coffee. At the cafeteria, there’s those surveillance cameras again, silently watching.

This is an everyday scene all over the country. Spy cameras are watching, ready to pounce on a fault and a misdemeanor in the workplace. Video surveillance in the workplace is, according to annoyed workers, an unwelcome intrusion. Workers complain that this violates their privacy. Employers counter that this is protection for the business and for the workers.

How video surveillance helps business and workers

In large factories dealing with hazardous gasses, workers can view production without being exposed to poisonous or toxic elements. At the control room, a designated watcher can immediately call the workers’ attention to any problem in the production room.

In the office, surveillance can help employers identify embezzlers and idlers on the tapes and present the recordings as evidence when litigation is necessary. One employer demands the religious review of the tapes before workers come in, to check the presence of improvised explosive devices and suspicious activities that may endanger a life.

This provides the cost-saving advantage of employing less security people. Two persons managing the monitors can alert posted guards if there are any problems. And whatever is shown from CCTV surveillance cannot be viewed by other factories because these are not broadcast. Each of the video surveillance cameras has a radio signal that is linked to the recording and viewing equipment.

Security has its price

Workers are learning to cope with the intrusion of video surveillance. As long as this does not interfere with their work or their privacy, security will always come first.

However, video surveillance put in the wrong hands and used for wrong purposes can upset the balance between privacy and security. This can be compared to the sinister watching of the Gestapo at Birkenau camp.

But the advantages of electronic or digital surveillance outweighs the minor inconveniences experienced in the workplace. So apart from checking on you, video surveillance is watching you to help you, just in case.

If you need to keep an eye on what is going on in your home or business then you’ll need a security system that provides you with alarm monitoring facilities and other valuable information, and can deliver that information to the right person quickly.

Security systems range in their level of sophistication and complexity and the system you decide to purchase will determine the amount of information you can gain from alarm monitoring, real time surveillance and recording. Whatever your security needs are you need to identify them clearly to ensure you purchase a system that will address those needs adequately.

There are many security systems on the market and the high capacity systems not only offer an outstanding level of security but can be a source of valuable information that may prevent loss of property and enhance the safety of employees or family members. The deterrent factor of a good security system cannot be overlooked either.

The Honeywell Vista 20P Security Kit gives you the capacity to monitor 48 different zones and includes internet upload/download plus graphic keypad support and dual partitions. The internet interface with the security system allows you to send alarm signals and improve the speed at which information can be delivered to and from the control panel. A 100 event log is also viewable at system keypads complete with a date and time stamp.

Security systems can be hard wired or wireless, or a hybrid of the two. The GE Concord Hardwired/Wireless Kit is a hybrid system that is suitable for commercial and domestic applications. The wireless Learn Mode sensors and touch-pads provide you with an instant overview of the security of your premises. The system can also be expanded to incorporate a Phone Interface/Voice Module for on-site and off-site system control using touch-tone phones. Voice modules allow for speaker output for on-site voice status and message alarms.

If you are renting or on a budget there are plenty of alarm monitors to help provide you with security and peace of mind. The AAA+ Smart Home Centre is quick to install and offers real value for money. This completely wireless system not only functions as a security system, but monitors your property by providing alert notifications when the system is not armed. The control panel will call the pre-programmed emergency phone numbers and the siren will sound when break-in occurs. In addition the system can turn household appliances and lights on or off even if you are away from your home. It can be controlled by dialling in from any touch tone phone, which makes it even more convenient and powerful.

Your security system is your first line of defence for your home and business. The right security system and alarm monitoring set up for your needs can provide you with valuable information and peace of mind when you’re away from your home or business premises. Connection to your phone allows you to monitor your security system and change settings without being on the premises. Alarm monitoring has never been easier.
